CSI: Lizzie Borden! August 4th Crime Re-enactments at 92 Second Street

Pear Essential Players
RenacementLadies

Join us on August 4th, 2010 for the crime re-enacements at the Borden House 92 Second Street as performed by the Pear Essential Players.

It is 30 minutes after Abby Borden's body has been found upstairs in the guest room.  92 Second Street has become a beehive of activity with Fall River's Men in Blue flocking to the crime scene.  Doctors, bystanders, policemen, newspaper reporters, neighbors and friends are all converging on the little drab house on Second St.  Inside on the Second Floor, Miss Lizzie Andrew Borden is reclining on her fainting couch, medicated with Bromo Caffeine.  Uncle John has wandered bewildered into the dining room, trying to make sense of what he has just heard.  Bridget Sullivan is frightened in the parlor, already planning to pack and flee that very afternoon. The lifeless bodies of Andrew and Abby Borden are covered with bloody sheets, awaiting procedures and the ministrations of the undertaker.  Sister Emma is rushing back home on her way from Fairhaven.  Helpful neighbors mill around looking for answers and trying to be useful in comforting Lizzie and assisting the police. Meanwhile, the police begin the questioning and searching.  Our visitors will be "deputized" as they begin their tour of the crime scene, and will be encouraged to
"assist" the police with their photographic equipment and by carefully surveying the crime scenes.  They may even be motivated to ask a question themselves and to be on the lookout for CLUES! By means of the police questioning, the visitors to the house will hear the story as it happened, unfolding through the answers of the family members.  As the tour of the premises ends, visitors will be asked to cast a vote on the GUILTY PARTY, based on what they have seen and heard during their inspection of the scene of the crime.

Lizzie Borden: Girl Detective by Richard Behrens was published by Pear Tree Press on April 16th, 2010.

Introducing Miss Lizzie Borden of Fall River, Massachusetts, a most excellent girl detective and the most remarkable young woman ever to take on the criminal underworld in late 19th century New England.

Many years before her infamous arrest and trial for the murders of her father and stepmother, Lizzie Borden pursued a career as a private consulting detective and wrestled masterfully with a crooked spiritualist, a corrupt and murderous textile tycoon, a secret society of anarchist assassins, rowdy and deadly sporting boys, a crazed and vengeful mutineer, an industrial saboteur, and a dangerously unhinged math professor—none of whom are ever exactly what they seem to be.

In these five early tales of mystery and adventure, Lizzie Borden is joined by her stubborn and stingy father Andrew; her jealous and weak-chinned sister Emma; her trusted companion Homer Thesinger the Boy Inventor; and the melancholy French scion Andre De Camp. Together, they explore Fall River’s dark side through a landscape that is industrial, Victorian, and distinctly American.

HERE'S A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THIS WICKED LOCATION...

According to reports from renowned paranormal investigator Christopher Moon, President and Senior Editor of Haunted Times Magazine, as well as former Ghost Hunter University attendees, more than 100 years after Andrew Borden's murder on August 4, 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts, Mr. Borden, father of the accused Lizzie Borden, still maintains a strong presence in the house where he used to live.

He is not the only ghostly visitor. Lizzie’s stepmother, Abby Borden, who was murdered at the same time and Lizzie herself also make their presence known.

Although Lizzie was accused of the brutal murders in which both Andrew and Abby Borden were hacked to death with an axe, she was acquitted due to lack of evidence. Speculation surrounding the case continues to this day. Did she or didn’t she?

Christopher Moon has been to the Lizzie Borden House, now converted to a Bed and Breakfast, on several occasions. Each time, something unique occurs. “On a previous visit, by far the most incredible thing was digitally capturing Andrew Borden in the midst of forming into a full-body apparition. We have an amazing photograph of his face while he was appearing.” he says.

For more information, to register for the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast Ghost Hunter University events, and to book a room at the Bed and Breakfast at a discounted rate for attendees, please call Lee-ann Wilber at Lizzie's at 508-675-7333.

Rebecca

Read an Article by Rebecca Shott Muller about her paranormal investigation at the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast: Andrew J. Borden and Mrs. Abby Dufree Borden are as much of an interest to the public eye as they were in 1892.  Lizzie was acquitted at her trial and the actual reason why, or how, remains a great assumption.  Speculation if Lizzie is the true murderer continues with stories circulating of hatred toward her step-Mother, and anger toward her Father relating to jealousy due to greedy financial concerns within the family.  Lizzie felt her step-family was receiving the money from her extremely wealthy father when she and her older sister, Emma, should have been presented with the Borden cash.
